Mini Prints

Newbies have arrived in my shop: the mini prints! What are they exactly? Well, they are the size of a postcard but their quality is far greater. The paper is very thick (600gsm!!), making it almost impossible to bend! And the colours are sublime. It is almost as if you could feel the different layers of paint just by looking at the print. The mini prints have won me over! Definitely.

The Last of the works consigned to oblivion

The ultimate post of the series entitled 'Works consigned to oblivion'. A sheer sense of relief is soothing me as I become aware of my having finished all the illustrations I had under way since the beginning of 2011. From now on I can think about new projects, without having to bear in mind some tormenting forgotten works that are still unfinished. What a bliss to be rid of that burden - it prevents me from creating as I always have to catch up with past works. At the moment, I am making some sketches for a new illustration that will involve a wild horse, an old pram, and the town of Krakow (Poland). I am tingling with impatience to draw something new. Loads of ideas swarm over my head, but there is a latent frustration lurking behind me; I am no more on holiday, I also have to deal with my studies - though very interesting, but sucking up all my spare time outside the university.

Works consigned to oblivion II

Asking for the Moon is an illustration I would like to dedicate to a dear friend of mine, Ana Luisa Vale - thank you so very much for encouraging me to keep on drawing, and not to give up.

A day in Bruges

It dawns on me that my outing to Bruges last Sunday, was the very last one before my starting the new academic year. Actually, I have not taken in yet that next week will be the end of my Summer holidays - what a terrible blow it is going to be! I will have to say goodbye to the dear lie-ins everyday of the week, and will have to study very hard. Anyway, I must keep my spirits up! Bruges is a picturesque town where one must surely takes delight in living. Every house possesses gigantic windows; shafts of light shine on the rooms, and enable to enhance the space inside - would love to live in one of these houses one day. As you can see, loads of photos were taken while I was wandering in the streets of Bruges - very inspiring I must say!

August melting away like lemon sorbet

September has already shown up, why so quickly by Jove? The holidays are over, I must say goodbye to Poland, and wait until next year. In October I am going back to the University, after a year abroad in England as a French language assistant. Well, what can I say? Everything is going so very quickly! I feel like in a whirling whirl, coming full circle every September, living the very same sequence of events over and over again. My post turns out to be quite depressing to read, let's change the subject.

Two months already

Two months and two days have gone by since my last trip to Krakow, Poland. You may have noticed some new photos on the blog lately – well, I have only posted two photos. I am definitely enraptured by that town; everytime I go there, I come to rediscover it from a different vantage point, and I always find myself filled with marvel at Krakow. This is fascinating to see that despite having been several times in Krakow, I can still be astounded as if it were my first time wandering its streets.

Work in progress

This Summer Holiday is quite productive; I am proud to say that I am not lazy, not a bit. Well, I must admit that I may sleep too much - but that's not the point. As always, I work slowly (but surely), and I am so relieved to devote my time to doing what I like the most! This time, I wanted to keep a trace of my illustrations before they get dressed in colours. Have a peep! Feel free to comment :D

I know I will like them better with colours.
