L I B R A I R I E

Librairie

I barely got home after my Summer holiday in Poland and I am already back at work, inspiration filling my brain more than ever.

Librairie is my submission for the Mail Art Exhibition set up by Squame and the Slow Galerie. The theme was 'Make a wish'. I will let you figure out what my wish is :)

The original artwork will be available for sale, should it be selected for the exhibition at the Slow Galerie in Paris.

A lovely tearoom in Paris

As you may have noticed, I love tea! Yesterday, I went with my friend and her mother in a tearoom, in Paris. What is amazing is that the tea room is set in the garden of a beautiful museum: La Vie Romantique. I took a tea called "Mélange Anglais" and a chocolate tart - scrumptious. I would die for another cup of tea!! If you come to Paris, I really advise you to go there!

Christmas Holidays

Thanks God it is Friday! Tomorrow starts a new day - I am on holiday!!! Yippee!! I will have time at last to take loads of photos and to draw!!!!!! I love holidays!! I love Christmas even if it is a sad time for a lot of people - I have noticed that many people I know, some from my family, died just before Christmas. Yesterday for the first time there was snow in Paris!! Amazing!

A tree with a scarf

Yes, this is queer actually! A few months ago, there was a small storm in our neighborhood - it was a bit frightening. The day after, my mum was looking for her scarf in the kitchen - the one she left on the ironing board next to the window. She could not find it and thought we had done something with it. When I walked the dog a few days later, I noticed something weird in one of the trees of the neighborhood: something green and red. To my great surprise, I realized it was my mum’s scarf! I can’t understand how the scarf found itself in a tree. Our window in the kitchen is very small and the scarf was far away from the window. It must have been a strong storm! The scarf is on the top of a very very tall tree, I do not know how we are going to do to get it back. I do not think the firemen will bother helping us - this is not a cat.

About Bregovic's Concert, 28.06.09

Guess what! When I went to that concert I had told you about, I was so excited - maybe the heat drove me mad - I forgot to put the battery into my camera; when I tried to take photos, I could not understand why my camera did not work...

Otherwise, the concert was amazing!!!!!! The orchestra was breathtaking, INCREDIBLE!! People all around me were drunk or doped up to the eyeballs, I don't know, I must admit it was a bit frightening :). The annoying thing was those drunk people who did crowd surf. Unfortunately, they kicked some girls who were underneath. When they came up to me, I moved away in order to bring them down. I know I'm nasty but they really got on my nerves, as I wanted to see and hear the orchestra!!!!

About the 2 women of the orchestra, their folk dresses were very beautiful and similar to Polish folk dresses, I would kill to have their voice :). One of the saxophonists started to dance at the end, he was so funny!! Well, I'll never forget that concert, they were very professional and they had stamina, that was very impressive! They played on their instruments and sung for 3 hours and they did not look tired at all. I loove them !! Bregovic told terrific jokes! He said for instance, that we should not die because the orchestra cost a lot of money; or that they only gave concerts in France because nobody wanted them somewhere else. I hope I'll have money next time to go to their concert :D

Bregovic Live

Today, at 7:00PM, there is a concert I've been waiting for so long : Bregovic's concert. Thanks to La Defense Jazz Festival I'll see and hear Bregovic and his amazing orchestra for free and outside a concert hall. Fortunately, we do have a sunny day in France, but as far as I am concerned, it is too hot !! I have a headache and I am always out of breath when I do move a little. I'll upload some photos of the concert to share it with you. See you ! Maybe I'll die today, I think I'm going to melt :)
