London 2012 Summer Olympics

I never once thought that I would be so engrossed in the Olympic Games, never - this year was the very first time. Why? Well, maybe it had to do with the city wherin it was taking place, and also because I got the thrill out of watching canoeing! It inspired me a lot as you can see; I loved the way the competitors' hands held the oar, a pleasure to draw.

The Last of the works consigned to oblivion

The ultimate post of the series entitled 'Works consigned to oblivion'. A sheer sense of relief is soothing me as I become aware of my having finished all the illustrations I had under way since the beginning of 2011. From now on I can think about new projects, without having to bear in mind some tormenting forgotten works that are still unfinished. What a bliss to be rid of that burden - it prevents me from creating as I always have to catch up with past works. At the moment, I am making some sketches for a new illustration that will involve a wild horse, an old pram, and the town of Krakow (Poland). I am tingling with impatience to draw something new. Loads of ideas swarm over my head, but there is a latent frustration lurking behind me; I am no more on holiday, I also have to deal with my studies - though very interesting, but sucking up all my spare time outside the university.

A day in Gent

Gent

Cloudburst. Deluge. Downpour. Drizzle. Fall. Precipitation. Raindrops. Rainfall. Showers. Rain. Every time I go to Belgium, it is raining. Sadly for Zeus, it did not dishearten me as I am a lover of rain - peculiarly when the clouds are gloomy, and the sunlight pierces through them. Gent is far bigger than I imagined it, far bigger than Bruges; I must say that it is a piece of cake to loose one's way in its streets. Eventually I caught a cold, but I am so very glad I have visited that wonderful town! Bruges and Gent must be an enchantment at Christmas.

Have a card.

Indeed I am. Indeed, 'pertinacious' is the word to describe my vain endeavour to get rid of all of my old cards series, before the release of a new series - have the strange feeling I am drivelling. To show you how desperate I am, I am offering a 30% discount on etsy, until October 18th 2012. The promo code is : RIDOCT201230

Let's imagine for a moment that you have the ineffable desire to buy five cards in a row, know that there would be no shipping costs - just let me know before the purchase.

Asking for the Moon is an illustration I would like to dedicate to a dear friend of mine, Ana Luisa Vale - thank you so very much for encouraging me to keep on drawing, and not to give up.
